WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a very natural, normal state, it is simply an altered state of consciousness and one that we all go in and out of several times a day. When you are in this relaxed state you are more able to focus on your positive plans for your future.
You cannot get stuck in hypnosis and contrary to some beliefs you cannot be made to do anything against you will. You are fully in control at all times, in fact I am working to help you gain more control of your thoughts and your feelings. The process is very calming and relaxing and most people report to feeling happy and well rested after a session.
WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
There can be a lot of confusion over what hypnotherapy is, hypnotherapy simply means psychotherapy combined with the added benefit of hypnosis. I practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which combines neuroscience, modern talking therapy and hypnosis to provide a very effective approach.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, as the name suggests, works on solutions for the future and not analysing problems. I trained at the Clifton Practice in Bristol where I learned this leading approach to hypnotherapy which is based in the very latest neuroscience research.
I will have a positive therapeutic discussion with you to help you identify your hopes for the future and what change means for you. This discussion can be surprising and enlightening. There is no need to for us to spend time looking into your past which many people find refreshing.

I then use the very helpful tool of hypnosis, which you will experience as pleasant, guided relaxation, to help enhance and embed your own decisions – because no one has more affect on your behaviour then you.
